Club 2000 Mission International began in February 1987 in Ondo State and held its first major conference and meeting in 1989 in Akure at Jubilee Community Grammar School Hall. Many years after that faithful meeting—with the organization’s headquarters now moved to Lagos, Nigeria—we were grateful to return to Akure for a one-day interactive session to reintroduce and reignite activities there.
The meeting was held at “Ile-Oluwa Bethel” Compound, Alaba Layout Community off FUTA Southgate Road. Hosted by Pastor Anjola-Jesu, the meeting was attended by Christians, ministers, and missionary enthusiasts. Dr. Austin Adesola spoke at the main session, recounting the history of the network and introducing its new approach while emphasizing the reasons why missionary work is needed more than ever today.
Billy Adesola informed the attendees of the new organizational and membership structure. He also introduced the mandate of Club 2000 Youth, an arm of the organization with a drive to reach out to the campuses to affect the youth population. The meeting ended with plans for an Akure conference later in the year.
As the first major outing of 2025, we are grateful for all that God did in Akure and we are looking forward to more activities in the future.
